We believe the understanding of film is essential to literacy in the 21st century. It encourages learning, critical understanding, debate and conversation about film and the moving image across a wide range of issues, and gives young and adult people a vehicle for their own creativity. Yet film education is still on the margins of the national and policy agenda.

TIFF STUDIO in Cluj will offer a series of practical and theoretical workshops during the whole year for children, youth and adults, where participants will learn the alphabet of moving images, the process and techniques of filmmaking, the secret of being a good movie actor and also how to be a creative and entrepreneurial producer. In the whole region of Transylvania there is no possibility for people for high level theoretical or practical film education.

TIFF STUDIO Workshops will help to build and nurture a future active audience for national and European films in Romania and to create a cinematic community where professional filmmakers will have the opportunity to develop their new projects by actively involving their future audience.

The Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) in Cluj has become a well-known brand in Romania in the last 12 years and one of the most important European film events being accredited by FIAPF since 2010, attracting over 67.000 spectators during the ten days of the festival. It was our dream to create a unique cultural institution that entertains, challenges, educates and inspires audiences of all ages through the power of film.
