FULL MOON CREATIVE LAB
European scriptwriters can now apply for the Full Moon Creative Lab, a project dedicated to film professionals specialising in genre TV series: thriller, horror and fantasy. The program, initiated by Romanian Film Promotion and Transilvania IFF, consists of creative residencies taking place in Transylvania (Romania), during which up to 12 candidates will be mentored by accomplished international professionals. The selected participants will be guided in writers’ rooms.
The call for projects for Full Moon Creative Lab is open until September 15. Residencies are set to take place in October 2023, February and June 2024. The program is supported by Creative Europe MEDIA and the call is dedicated to writers from all EU member countries.

Full Moon Creative Lab has already enlisted as facilitators and mentors the award-winning screenwriter and producer Frank Spotnitz (US), pitchologist, producer and writer Agathe Berman (France), producer Eilon Razkovsky (Israel), scriptwriter and director Geo Doba (Romania), TV series producers Gabriela Iacob (Romania/Spain), broadcaster and producer Johnathan Young (UK). The list will be completed with other experts who will provide invaluable insights and support throughout the Lab.
The Lab marks the next step in developing the Full Moon Script Contest, a programme launched by Transilvania IFF in 2020. Claudia Droc, Head of International Relations for the festival explains:
„Building upon the experience of 2 editions of the Full Moon Script Contest and the Full Moon Horror & Fantasy Film Festival, we believe that there is a thriving market for genre content, particularly in the realms of thriller, fantasy and horror. There is a great demand for content that possess local elements that can resonate with audiences across borders, languages, and cultures.”
Each edition will end with a pitching session at the Transilvania International Film Festival (June 2024 and respectively June 2025), in front of influential industry professionals, including producers, broadcasters, sales agents, TV and major streaming platforms representatives, as well as one-to-one meetings, fostering opportunities for the projects to find support in the marketplace.
Founded in 2002, the Transilvania International Film Festival is the first and largest international film festival in Romania and one of the most important film events in the region, with over 100,000 participants at each edition. The festival takes place every year in the heart of Transylvania, in Cluj-Napoca, a modern city with a rich history.

Scenaristii din Europa pot aplica pentru Full Moon Creative Lab, un proiect destinat cineaștilor specializați în seriale de gen: thriller, horror și fantasy. Inițiativa TIFF, susținută de Programul Europa Creativă al Uniunii Europene, constă în rezidențe de creație care se vor desfășura în Transilvania până în 2025, cu participarea unor experți internaționali din industrie, care vor mentora participanții. Laboratorul își propune să îmbunătățească procesul de creație al acestora, prin conectarea unor cineaști talentați din toate statele membre UE.
Apelul de proiecte pentru Full Moon Creative Lab este deschis până pe 15 septembrie. Rezidențele vor avea loc în octombrie 2023, februarie și iunie 2024. Programul este susținut de Creative Europe MEDIA, iar apelul este dedicat scenariștilor din toate țările membre ale UE.

Printre facilitatorii și mentorii deja confirmați pentru Full Moon Creativa Lab se numără scenaristul și producătorul Frank Spotnitz (SUA), producătoarea Agathe Berman (Franța), producătorul Eilon Ratzkovsky (Israel), scenarista și regizoarea Geo Doba (România), producătorul de seriale TV Gabriela Iacob (România/Spania), producătorul Johnathan Young (Marea Britanie), scenarista, regizoarea și producătoarea Anne Feinsilber (Franța). Lista va fi completată cu alți experți.
Laboratorul marchează următorul pas în dezvoltarea Full Moon Script Contest, un program lansat de TIFF în 2020. Claudia Droc, Head of International Relations la TIFF, explică:
"Bazându-ne pe experiența celor 2 ediții ale Full Moon Script Contest și a Festivalului de Film Horror & Fantasy Lună Plină, credem că există o piață înfloritoare pentru conținutul de gen, în special în domeniile thriller, fantasy și horror. Există o cerere mare de conținut cu elemente locale care pot rezona cu publicul dincolo de granițe, limbi și culturi."
Fiecare ediție se va încheia cu o sesiune de pitching în cadrul Festivalului Internațional de Film Transilvania (iunie 2024 și, respectiv, iunie 2025), în fața unor profesioniști influenți din industrie, printre care producători, agenți de vânzări, reprezentanți ai televiziunilor și ai principalelor platforme de streaming, precum și întâlniri one-to-one, favorizând oportunitățile ca proiectele să găsească sprijin pe piață.
