The near future. Ukrainian space trucker Andriy Melnik transports nuclear waste on the a cargo ship to the abandoned Jupiter's moon Callisto. During his routine flight, the Earth explodes, but Andriy manages to survive.
Prague, 1968. The International Editorial Office of Czechoslovak Radio is staffed by courageous journalists, celebrities of their time. Young Tomáš works amongst them, though it is his brother's dream job.
When a mysterious artifact is uncovered on the Moon, a spacecraft manned by two humans and supercomputer HAL 9000 (probably one of the most iconic representations of AI in SF) is sent to Jupiter to find its origins.
