Saturday, June 9, Cinema Florin Piersic, 23.00

Saturday evening, at 23.00, Cinema Florin Piersic, in What's up, Doc? section, the audience can  Frederick Wiseman latest documentary, Crazy Horse, the final part of his French cultural trilogy (along with La Comédie- Francaise and La Danse) It is the depiction of the steps French choreographer Philippe Decouflé must undergo, trying to set up a show at the notorious Parisian cabaret.

Often grim and disturbing, Frederick Wiseman's documentaries are bound to the relationship between individuals and society’s institutions. Faithful with his fly-on-the wall approach, but refusing the affiliation often made with Direct Cinema, the filmmaker has undergone a full picture of the American society, from mental hospitals to high-schools, from American Ballet Theatre to an annonimus box-gym in Austin, Texas. The images that resulted from his observational works were one of a dystopic world in the making.
