Adrian Naidin & Ionuț Micu (John) - Tari ca piatra

The two instrumentalists will present, in a new version for cello and percussion, their Tari ca Piatra show, an innovative concert in which the duo’s virtuosity is enhanced by Adrian Naidin’s beautiful voice. Spectaculor when it comes to classical music but also gifted in folklore, Adrian Naidin’s is testing new sounds and forms of expression. Experimental and rebellious, Ionuț Micu reinvents rock tropes, adding vigour and force to already famous songs.
ADRIAN NAIDAN: Lauded by the Latvian musician Mischa Maisky, who was his teacher, and by the Greek director Mihalis Kakogiannis – who is his admiror, Naidin has been applauded on stage next to the Romanian band Phoenix and actors Ion Caramitru and Horațiu Mălăele, on the Grand Scene of the National Theatre in Bucharest. He gained ovations also alongside pianist Raul Kusak, for the world music project “Cântice’n cerc”, presented in the Freedom Jazz Festival and at Folk You. His music also seduced producers from Voltage Production and Bona Fide Productions, who included his songs on the soundtrack of Charlie Countryman, a film that was shot in Romania and was supervised musically by Moby.
IONUȚ MICU fascinates with his savage percussive attacks, alongside Phoenix and in other hybrid projects. He started playing when he was 9 years old, initially at the local Art School in Constanța, then heading on an individual path, while discovering new sounds with special talent. At 11 he had already formed his first band, a heavy metal group, then found his true calling: the drums. He was guided, ever since he was 14 years old, by Ovidiu Lipan Țăndărică. Initially he played in the Romanian band Talisman, to which Krypton and Compact followed, after which he was finally invited in the band that he calls the closest to his heart, Phoenix.
