The jury has selected the 9 finalist scripts, all winners of the HBO „3 days at TIFF” prize.
The announcement of the winners for the 3 categories will be made during the Awards Ceremony of the tenth edition of Transilvania International Film Festival, which will be held in Cluj-Napoca between June 3 -12, 2011.
Here are the finalists of the 3 categories, in random order:
For the feature film script category:
- Cotovanu Roxana, for 1st of May
- Paul Negoescu, for 365 New Year’s Eves
- Paul Emil Cioran, for From Now On, You’re On Your Own”
For the short film script category:
- Ionuţ Vasile Gaga, for Penny
- Marian Enache, for Burnt Out
- Alexandru Tocilescu, for Company Party
For the documentary script
- Matei-Alexandru Mocanu, for A Banana Crime
- Ada Maria Ichim, for Hijacked! My Grandfather and the world’s first hijacking
- Ozana Nicolau, for Too Early
The prizes offered by HBO Romania for the National Screenwriting Competition are the following:
- ”HBO Award for the Best Feature Screenplay” is worth 3000 USD. If the winning script has more than one author, the prize will be divided equally among all authors.
- ”HBO Award for the Best Short Film Screenplay” is worth 1500 USD. If the winning script has more than one author, the prize will be divided equally among all authors.
- ”HBO Award for the Best Documentary Screenplay” is worth 2000 USD. If the winning script has more than one author, the prize will be divided equally among all authors.
- “The HBO - 3 days at TIFF Award” will be offered to the 9 (nine) finalists of the three categories and consists of the following: 3 festival days whose costs will be covered entirely (besides accommodation and transportation, this package includes free access to all screenings and VIP invitations to special events taking place during these days).
