Update July 2020: Following the rescheduling and reconfiguration of the festival, Transilvania Pitch Stop will take place partially online. Details will be sent to the selected tutors and participants.

The 7th edition of Transilvania Pitch Stop (TPS) will take place as part of Transilvania International Film Festival (July 31 - August 9) The project is dedicated to directors from Romania and the Republic of Moldova and provides personalized advice on script development, training and a platform to support the pitch in front of potential partners.

The application process takes place online. To sign up for the project, you need to create an account on the eventival.eu platform at this link: https://vp.eventival.com/tiff/2020

Deadline to apply: March, 31st, 2020.

The directors and producers of the five selected projects will be invited to TIFF where, in a six-day marathon workshop, they will form working groups with the trainers. The group activity will focus on effective ideas of "selling" the project in front of prospective institutional partners and financiers, on pitch preparation, and on the trainers' and the advisors' guidance on the scripts and dramaturgical structures of the projects. TPS focuses on groups' interaction and on getting acquainted with each project, thus encouraging collaboration and the exchange of ideas between teams, for a complete creative experience.

Through partnerships with international film festivals, where winning TPS projects will be invited to participate in their industry events, TPS supports the first steps towards financing the most promising film projects and facilitating their international visibility.

The application is made exclusively online, all materials must be presented in English and contains:

-  Application form filled with: project title (original and English version), director’s info, producer’s info (if attached to the project), scriptwriter’s info (if different than the director), logline, synopsis (max 1 page), director’s statement, director’s biography and filmography, producer’s biography and filmography (if attached to the project), link for director’s previous work (e.g vimeo link with password)

What kind of projects can be selected for Transilvania Pitch Stop?

We are looking for feature-length fiction film projects of first and second time Romanian and Moldavian directors. It is recommended to have a producer attached. The project should be in early stages of development.

How does Transilvania Pitch Stop work?

A board of selection will be appointed and up to five feature film projects will be selected. When selected, director and producer are invited to participate in the Transilvania Pitch Stop custom made hands-on workshop during Transilvania International Film Festival.

Attending the workshops and public presentation is mandatory.

Working groups will be established - project team and trainers. The group work will focus on ways of packaging the project in order for the team to be prepared for the public pitch, as well as on script doctoring feedback. In addition, special attention will be given to the interaction between groups and to a better acquaintance with all the projects, the free exchange of ideas and opinions being heavily encouraged.

All teams will have the opportunity to finalize their experience in a public presentation in front of a number of potential international partners.

All participating projects will be showcased in a projects' booklet.

It is mandatory for all selected projects to mention in the ending credits: “Developed with the support of Transilvania Pitch Stop” together with the official logo.

Transilvania International Film Festival reserves the right of first domestic screening of each project selected in the TPS program.
