Famed French street art band Transe Express comes to TIFF with two unique musical and visual shows: Mobile Homme and Tambours en Feu. Mobile Homme will be presented during the official opening Gala on Friday, May 27 from 8:45 PM in Union Square, before the world premiere of Nae Caranfil's latest film, 6.9 on the Richter Scale. The band has prepared a huge aerial show, which involves crane acrobatics. The show requires precision and speed and will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The second performance, Tambours en Feu, will take place at the Banffy Castle in Bonţida, during the first evening of Weekend at the Castle, Saturday, May 28, from 8:30 PM. The festive drum parade will end with a show of lights, sound, fire and fireworks, before the screening of the film The Show of Shows.

Connected to the old French tradition of itinerant street performances, Transe Express means shocking performances, street altering interventions that combine music, visual arts, circus, fire, pyrotechnics, steampunk, opera, rock, dance and theater. The team consists of hundreds of actors, acrobats, dancers, percussionists, singers, quartets, welders, technicians and carpenters. Transe Express toured 80 countries and opened, among other events, the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville.
