The Man with a Camera

Director:
Dziga Vertov

This playful film is a documentary of a day in the life of the Soviet Union, a documentary of the filming of said documentary, and a depiction of an audience watching the film. Even the editing of the film is documented. We often see the cameraman who is purportedly making the film, but we rarely, if ever, see any of the footage he seems to be in the act of shooting!

Dubase and Leizaboy, already a famous Dj duo for their contribution to the silent movies screened at TIFF, for which they add live music since 2006, are returning this year at Sibiu with The Man with a Camera, directed by Dziga Vertov in 1929. Both Dubase and Leizaboy are working as Djs since the end of the 90s. They are specialized in electronic music and part of the Guerrilla outernational team. Besides their special screenings in TIFF, they also appeared at the MOFFOM Festival (Music on film, film on music) in the Czech Republic in 2008. The two DJs are also radio broadcasters for the AnonimTM Radio station in Timişoara, where they host the Babalonia Show (Dubase) and E.A.R.S. In Stereo (Leizaboy).
