If you animated his shots, Silviu Gheţie would be one of the best Romanian contemporary film directors. Moreover, he writes his own screenplays, operates the camera, edits, colour grades, produces etc. all by himself. His photographs encompass a touching story, characters and relationships. He has the power to assimilate reality through the viewfinder, to seize and transform it in unique ways, with an extraordinary flair for conveying the sense of the daily absurd. The present exhibition testifies to that: even when taking photographs on the film sets, Silviu shoots in his unique way, his reality. Now as always, Gheţie captures on film – in a touching, honest, apparently simple, but always spectacular manner - life itself in its most subtle aspects.
