Firma and Face Today at Casa TIFF
Firma is a representative name for Romanian alternative rock – a breakthrough band for the standards local music market at the beginning of the century. The videos for the tracks La Orbire, Nimeni andImportant were featured in heavy rotation on local TV channels, but also on VH1 and MTV Europe. Firma was the first Romanian band to be nominated for an international section, New Sounds of Europe, and invited to perform at the MTV European Music Awards gala, in 2007, in München. In 2014, after a long period of creation, Firma resurfaced fully and produced the first volume of their new album, Descântece. Proof that the band is once again appreciated, even in this new context, stands the Most Wanted Comeback awards they earned from SUNETE music magazine last year.
Face Today is a young emergent rock band formed in 2012 in Odorheiu-Secuiesc by Butu Arnold (lead vocals, songwriter, guitar), Lukácsi Előd (guitar), Siklódi Bátor (bass), László Péter (drums). Mostly influenced by indie, blues rock and garage, the four of them sum up their musical endeavor as contemporary rock 'n' roll with a strong 60s-70s vibe. They performed at Sziget in 2014, year in which they also released their first EP, called Private Section.
The concert will take place Saturday, June 6, 9:30 PM, at Casa TIFF. Ticket: 15 lei (Tickets here).
