Peli and Nina are a young couple from a Transylvanian Roma community where the matrimonial deals are as strict as those in the European aristocracy. Parents to a little girl, they struggle to birth a son, or else their arranged union will end. This is so because only boys inherit the family’s badge, the chalice.
