Péter, a man in his late thirties, thinks he recognizes in a documentary his father who fled from Communist Hungary in the 1970s and has not been heard of since. Péter travels to America and starts an investigation in order to discover the whereabouts of his father. The film is based on Polish writer Stanisław Lem's novel of the same title.
