(Paat)
Amir Toodehroosta

In the Islamic world, calling someone "dog" is the worst kind of insult, because dogs are unclean animals. Iran's religious leaders thunder that being friends with a dog is blind copying of vulgar Western culture. Getting a dog takes determination, connections, and a lot of cash. Many do decide to keep a dog, though it's illegal and a punishable offence. A dog wanders alone in Tehran, following people and their stories. A man who has a problem with his wife takes him in. When the wife tries to kill the man, the dog runs away, setting off for the big city...
