
Mira Staleva
BioMira got involved in the Sofia International Film Festival since its very beginning, in 1997. She is the managing director of the festival and also heads the Sofia Meetings, a co-production market in the frame of the festival focusing on first and second time directors. She is also involved in production, distribution, exhibition and audience development projects. She co-produced The King of the Belgians by Jessica Woodworth and Peter Brosens, which premiered at the Venice film festival, and the directorial duo's next film, The Barefoot Emperor, which premiered at Toronto. Currently she is co-producing The Fortress, Jessica Woodworth's feature to be shot in Armenia, and Brighton 4, the newest film by Georgian filmmaker Levan Koguashvili. Mira is a member of the European Film Academy and she is also in the LUX Prize selection board.
