TIFF 2026 Opening Gala: 3 Days in September

Following its world premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, 3 Days in September, the explosive comedy directed by Tudor Giurgiu, will be screened for the first time in Romania at the opening gala of the 25th edition of Transilvania IFF.

The evening will kick off spectacularly with the exclusive screening of an excerpt from NADIA, the work-in-progress documentary about the life and career of the world’s greatest gymnast. Nadia Comăneci has already confirmed her attendance at the event.

Structured as a 65-minute sequence, 3 Days in September is a true emotional rollercoaster, a romantic comedy filled with dark humor. At the heart of the story is a couple on the verge of marriage, whose relationship is shaken by an unexpected revelation. While on the coast, where they are set to marry the next day, the two are taken by surprise by the appearance of a mysterious woman, who makes a shocking revelation to the bride-to-be about her partner. From there, an intense night begins, forcing her to confront her own fears and choices.

Alongside the production team and director Tudor Giurgiu, the cast of 3 Days in September will walk the red carpet: Andreea Vasile, Adela Popescu, Conrad Mericoffer, Mirela Zeța, and Emilia Popescu. These are just a few of the personalities that audiences will have the opportunity to meet in Unirii Square.
