This book places the Romanian cinema in the European, and „O istorie subiectivă a tranziției filmice” (3rd volume), by Romanian film critic Valerian Sava.
June 6, 15.00 & 15.30: „Cinematografiștii”, by film historian Bujor T. Rîpeanu, including 2345 de Romanian film personalities, and „Cei de dincolo”, a BD album by George Drăgan and Alex Talambă and published by Mandragora.
On Saturday, June 7, 12:00: film historian Dominique Nasta, teacher at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, will discuss her book, „Contemporary Romanian Cinema – The History of an Unexpected Miracle” (Wallflower/ Columbia University Press), the first exhaustive English language study on Romanian cinema, covering the 1911 – 2011 period. The book was awarded the „George Littera” Prize granted by the Filmmakers’ Union.
On June 5, in the opening the Romanian Days section, TIFF Lounge hosts the official launching of the DVD box-set „Radu Gabrea. Biografia unei opere”, which includes the director’s most recent seven films. On June 7, director Dan Chișu launches the DVD version of his film, Chasing Rainbows.
