Special screening: „Sound City”
Another special event will be the screening of Sound City, on Sunday, June 9th, at 22:00 at Arta Cinema.
The film represents the directorial debut of Dave Grohl, former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman.
Very well received at Sundance, Sound City revives the glory days of an almost unknown studio in Van Nuys, California - Sound City, where there were recorded some of the greatest rock albums ever, such as Nirvana's "Nevermind" or Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours". Bands like Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Guns N 'Roses and Rage Against the Machine have also finished writing and recording songs here. Two years ago, when Sound City closed, Grohl bought its sound panel and installed it in his studio. And he got the idea for a film.
Among others, in Sound City appear living legends such as Paul McCartney, Mick Fleetwood, Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield. The soundtrack „Sound City: Real to Reel” was released this spring.
