At the end of a very busy Monday night, TIFF has a suggestion to those that are interested: a foray into the intimate and complicated world of The White Stripes, the documentary The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights, directed by Emmett Malloy.
In the summer of 2007, The White Stripes embarked on an ambitious journey – playing a show in every province and territory in Canada, performing in local bowling alleys, city buses and culminating in the 10th anniversary show in the legendary Savoy Theatre. This visual and emotional feature length film directed by Emmett Malloy captures intimate moments of Jack and Meg as they travel through some of the most remote parts of the northern Yukon Territory.
The film is included in the What's Up Doc? section, presented by the traditional partner of TIFF, the HBO, and will be screening at TIFF Meeting Point, starting with 23:30 h.
