The Transylvanian Museum of Cinematography Opens Its Doors During TIFF
During the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), the underground gallery of Casa TIFF, located at 6 Universității Street in Cluj-Napoca, welcomes visitors to the Transylvanian Museum of Cinematography for a fascinating journey through the history of cinema, from the beginnings of silent films to the digital era.
The museum’s founding filmmakers and XANTUS Foundation, in collaboration with TIFF Events and the Cluj-Napoca City Hall, present a unique collection of historic cinematographic equipment within Romania’s first and only film memorial museum. The exhibition follows an imaginary timeline, showcasing the evolution of filmmaking equipment and vintage motion-picture projection devices.
The memorial museum is open daily from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with guided tours available every 30 minutes. In addition, at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, visitors can watch the documentary “From Cluj to Hollywood” in the museum’s screening room, presented in its Romanian-language version.
Admission is based on optional, officially registered donations, which contribute to the development and continued support of the memorial museum.
