Saturday on the TIFF Campus is a Romanian electro evening, opened by ROA. ROA stands for “Rise of Artificial” and was founded in November 2010 as a new outfit for ex-Șuie Paparude member Junkyard, joined here by Bogdan Popoiag (UNU’) and Cristin Negriuc. Since then, the trio has been creating energic breakbeats with influences from trap and drum’n’bass and so they will be doing at Cluj as well! Golan is a complex live-act employing instruments, sampling and DJing to bring a much needed human touch to today’s electronic music. Melodic, dreamy and danceable, Alex, Mihai and Ernesto join TIFF and will play a nu-disco sounding set. Also from the area of disco, but with more intense rhythms influenced by techno, comes the closing DJ of the night, Brașov-based HighRoller.
