On Friday, the 4th of June, 19:00 h, at the UBB Auditorium, the special screening of the feature De vliegenierster van Kazbek / The Aviatrix Of Kazbek, directed by Ineke Smits, will take place. A film about a group of Georgian soldiers lodging on an island from the Netherlands. Their unfamiliar customs bring color in the life of a local girl, and in the middle of the fight between the Georgian regiment and the German troops, she finally escapes from the suffocating reality, learning to trust her own imaginary world. The screening will be held in the presence of director Ineke Smits, who is also a member of the TIFF Jury this year, and in the presence of the starring actress of the film, Anamaria Marinca.
Fliegerkosmonauten / Space Sailors, directed by Marian Kiss, is one other important title topping off the event-screening program designed by TIFF to compel the interest of cinema lovers. Present in the documentary section, the film proposes a journey into the present lives of several ex-astronauts, amongst the first European to step on the moon. The screening will take place on Wednesday, the 2nd of June, 20:00 h, at City Cinema, in the extraordinary presence of the astronaut Dumitru Prunariu, the first and only Romanian who has flown in cosmos.
