„The Notebook” in Hungarian Day

The Hungarian Day at TIFF takes place on Wednesday, June 4.

The famous Hungarian director Miklós Jancsó, a graduate of the Cluj’s School of Law in 1944, will be celebrated via a special screening of the film which brought him the Best Director award in Cannes 1972, Red Psalm. The film will play from 14.30 in Cinema Arta. From 18.00 at the Students Cultural House, director Janos Szasz will attend the screening of his film, The Notebook, awarded the Crystal Globe at Karlovy Vary and included on the shortlist for the Foreign Language Oscar. Besence Open (by Kristóf Kovács) is a funny documentary about a mayor who builds a tennis court in a lazy village, while Heavenly Shift (d. Mark Bodzsár) tells the drama of an ambulance employee who engages in an illegal funeral business.
