Vlad Ionuț Popescu
Date of birth: August 24th, 1998
Vlad Ionuț Popescu was born in Buzău and he studied at the National University of Theatre and Cinematography Bucharest. He made his stage debut with The Emperor of the Flies (R: Tudor Lucanu) at the Excelsior Theatre and during his studies he worked with several important directors, such as Radu Afrim (The Hanged Man’s Forest) and Andrei Măjeri (Medeea’s Boys).
In a film, he worked in several productions, both local and international, among which are: Taxi Drivers (by Bogdan Theodor - Olteanu), Voyagers (by Neill Burger), the short film Beyond (by Luca Bereș-Bota), The Father Who Moves Mountains (by Daniel Sandu) or the short film My mother is only one.
He’s currently working in several state or independent theatres in Bucharest, like The National Theatre, Teatrul de Comedie, Apollo111, Replika, unteatru, TDR, Godot or Masca (as part of the Political Theatre Season). Among his upcoming projects, there is the feature Emergency Exit (by Bogdan Mureșanu) and The Art of Stealing (by Jorien von Nes).
