Robin and the Backstabbers - Arhanghel’sk album release concert
Robin and the Backstabbers is a Romanian rock band formed in 2010 at the initiative of Andrei Robin Proca. The members of the band describe their music as “melodramatic pop”. After 8 hit singles which reached #1 in the Radio Guerrilla charts and a successful debut album, the group is pleased to announced the Cluj launch of their most recent LP – Arhanghel’sk, the second part of a future trilogy titled Bacovia Overdrive.
Robin initially wanted to form a group that would only perform covers from the songs of Graceland by Paul Simon, but the project grew rapidly and they were soon already opening for The Whitest Boy Alive and British Sea Power. The debut, Bacovia Overdrive vol. I: Stalingrad, produced by the labels Elegant Music Club / Fonogram Studios, was released on November 28th, 2012, during a sold-out show in Bucharest. First single SPNZRTR enjoyed an extensive media campaign developed by Griffon & Swans. In 2013, Robin and the Backstabbers won Best Alternative Rock Act and Artist of the Year at the national gala On Air Music Awards.
