Here is the life story of how Nicolae Ceauşescu rose from extreme poverty to extreme power. Based on original archive footage and live recreations, the story is told primarily through the words of those who actually lived it, those who knew the dictator closely, watched him, served him and carried out his commands: his prison mates, his “lookalike”, personal assistants, security people, his translator, travel companions, advisors, diplomats, ministers and family.
