Meet the facilitators: the 2nd edition of Full Moon Creative Lab started in Transylvania

Between December 1 - 8, 12 European screenwriters are taking part in the first residency of the Full Moon Creative Lab 2024 - 2025 program, creatively developing genre TV series projects alongside international facilitators Eilon Razkovsky, Arnaud Louvet and Michaela Sabo. The residency is set in the beautiful Szekler Manor, in Coltești, Transylvania. The 2nd edition of Full Moon Creative Lab, a program initiated by Transilvania IFF, is co-financed by the European Union.

The open call for Full Moon Creative Lab’s second edition was launched in June. 12 screenwriters were selected by the jury, from more than 80 submissions. 

The three selected projects are:

  • Normal Porn For Normal People - Hiram Harrington (Ireland)

  • Marciban - Zsuzsanna Bak  (Hungary)             

  • Under the Mountain - Madeleine Feret Fleury (France)

During the creative residencies, the screenwriters mentioned above will be joined by 9 others from Romania, Germany, Estonia, Bulgaria and Croatia: Matthias Börner (Germany), Lisa Brunke (Germany), Eve Tisler (Estonia), Filip Columbeanu (Romania), Iveta Stavreva (Bulgaria), Eva Todică (Romania), Daria Stilin (Croatia), Joona Kivirinta (Finlanda), Mile Božičević  (Croatia).

Producer Eilon Razkovsky (Israel), scriptwriter & producer Arnaud Louvet (France) and story development trainer Michaela Sabo (Slovakia) are the facilitators working with the participants during de residency. Other meetings are scheduled to take place in March and June 2025.

The program will end up with a pitching session at the Transilvania IFF (June 2025), where influential industry professionals such as producers, sales agents, television representatives, and major streaming platform representatives will provide opportunities for projects to secure market support.

Full Moon Creative Lab represents an annual creative workshop held in Transylvania, offering screenwriters the opportunity to enhance their skills while surrounded by international industry experts. The project aims to improve the creative process for screenwriters by connecting talented filmmakers from all EU countries.

 

Arnaud Louvet
Arnaud

Arnaud Louvet is a French screenwriter and producer based in Florence, Italy. He is currently developing a biopic about Marcel Marceau, the famous French mime, written by Palme d’Or winners Thomas Bidegain and Noé Debré, and directed by Pierre Schoeller. He is also engaged as a writer in serial projects for platforms, ranging from crime shows to period pieces. 

As a producer, he has developed a range of award-winning films and shows for ARTE, SVT and Canal +. Notable titles include ‘’Lady Chatterley’’ by Pascale Ferran, winner of five Cesar Awards including Best Film 2007, the mini-series “Virage Nord” by Virginie Sauveur, winner of the Best Series prize at the Festival de la Fiction La Rochelle 2014, the adaptation of “Pauline and François”, the first feature film of Renaud Fély. Together with the latter, he co-directed his self-penned feature film ‘’Brotherhood’’ in 2016.

As a commissioning editor for ARTE’s Drama Department from 1998 to 2006, he commissioned more than 100 feature-length TV dramas by filmmakers such as Claire Denis, Abderrahmane Sissako, Arnaud Desplechin and Laurent Cantet.

In partnership with the Series Mania Institute and the Cinefondation Cannes IFF, Arnaud is also actively supporting the training of the next generation of film and TV talent.

Eilon Ratzkovsky
Eilon

Eilon Ratzkovsky has produced feature films and TV series over the past 25 years, as chief producer and CEO of July August Productions, an Israeli production company which he created in 2003.

He has produced over 20 feature films amongst which are "The Band's Visit" by Eran Kolirin, "Mountain" by Yaelle Kayam, "Zero Motivation" by Talya Lavie, "Beyond the Mountains and Hills" by Eran Kolirin, "Funeral at Noon" by Adam Sanderson, "The Exchange" by Eran Kolirin, "Seven Days" by Ronit Elkabetz and Shlomi Elkabetz, all of which participated and won prizes in major film festivals.

He produced more than 12 TV series in Israel, some of which have been remade into local versions around the world. Among his TV productions are "Yellow Peppers" by Karen Margalit (also known as "The A Word" at BBC), "Mermaids" by Shachar Magen and Adam Sanderson, "Milk & Honey" by Dani Rosenberg and Tom Shoval and many more.

In the last couple of years, he has been tutoring for TorinoFilmLab and the Biennale College Cinema. He is the head of QUIDDITY, a content company specializing in developing high quality TV dramas for European networks.

 

Michaela Sabo
Michaela

Michaela studied theater dramaturgy at VŠMU (Theatre and Music Academy in Slovakia) and at DAMU (Theatre Academy in Prague). She also studied script writing at UCLA (Los Angeles 2012) and at Serial Eyes (DFFB - Berlin, 2014-2015). She then found her network in Berlin and is currently living there. 

Apart from her own work as a freelance writer, creative producer and development executive (five TV series already aired, several feature and TV series projects in different stages of development or production) Michaela is also working as a story development trainer (Sarajevo Film Festival, Serial Eyes – DFFB, Series Mania – Writers Campus, Midpoint Institute, Karlovy Vary IFF, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, Tallinn Black Nights, Torino Lab, Eureka Series ...etc)
