Official Competition Jury

Ciro Guerra is one of the most acclaimed Colombian directors of all time, with his films selected at major festivals including Cannes, Locarno, and San Sebastián. His most recent feature, Waiting for the Barbarians (2019), starring Mark Rylance, Johnny Depp, and Robert Pattinson, competed for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Paula Vaccaro is a producer and screenwriter, and the founder of the production company Pinball London, known for collaborations with directors such as Sally Potter, Luca Guadagnino, Jim Jarmusch, Guillermo Arriaga, and Emir Kusturica. Her latest production, Diciannove, the debut feature by Giovanni Tortorici, premiered in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival.

Fabrice Du Welz, with a background in theatre and film production, began his career as a TV presenter and actor in France and Belgium before debuting in film directing. His first feature, Calvaire, premiered at Cannes (Semaine de la Critique), and his latest, Maldoror, screened at the Venice Film Festival.

Bogdan Mureșanu, a director, screenwriter, and producer, successfully transitioned from literature and advertising to cinema. He is known for The Christmas Gift, an Oscar-shortlisted short with over 200 festival selections and 72 awards, and his feature debut The New Year's Eve That Never Was, winner of the Orizzonti Award in Venice. He is currently preparing three new films.

Agustina Chiarino, a renowned producer from Uruguay, has over 15 Latin American feature films that premiered at prestigious international festivals. She serves on the selection committee of the San Sebastián Co-Production Forum and has been a consultant for institutions such as the Sundance Film Institute, Doha Film Institute, Torino Film Lab, and Ventana Sur.

What’s Up, Doc? Competition Jury

Christine Camdessus is a producer with over 60 creative documentaries to her name, including Five Broken Cameras (Sundance directing award, Oscar-nominated) and Forman vs Forman (Cannes Classics selection). Since 2019, she has been the general and artistic director of FIPADOC, the international documentary film festival held annually in Biarritz.

Hanka Kastelicová

Ivan Bakrač is an emerging director from Montenegro. His debut feature After the Winter (2021) premiered at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival. He is a member of the European Film Academy and is also active as a film programmer.

Hanka Kastelicová joined HBO in 2012 and is now VP and Executive Producer for Documentaries at Warner Bros. Discovery in Europe. She has overseen numerous acclaimed productions including Collective (Alexander Nanau), Acasă (Radu Ciorniciuc), Holy Father (Andrei Dăscălescu), and Nasty (Tudor Giurgiu, Cristian Pascariu, Tudor D. Popescu).

Romanian Days – Feature Competition Jury

Fatima Djoumer has been with Europa Cinemas since 1993 and became CEO in 2023. The network supports the circulation of European films and audience development initiatives outside their country of origin. She is one of the jury members for the Romanian Days Feature Film Competition.

Tomasz Żygo

Lenka Tyrpáková has held programming and consultancy roles in numerous festivals and is currently the Artistic Director of the Finále Plzeň Festival. She is also curator of SHORT RIGA Test Screenings and a consultant for Cottbus IFF.

Tomasz Żygo is a festival coordinator, programmer, and distributor who has helped organize over 30 editions of the New Horizons and American Film Festival in Poland. He has promoted and launched over 100 arthouse films in cinemas, on VOD platforms, and on television.

Romanian Days – Short Film Competition Jury

Arnaud Chevallier is the founder of the sales agency B-Rated International, based in Paris and Madrid. A graduate of INSAS and former sales executive at Mediawan, he recently handled titles like The Silent Run (dir. Marta Bergman) and Maria Callas – Monica Bellucci: An Encounter (dir. Yannis Dimolitsas). B-Rated is also active in co-producing documentaries and fiction features, supporting new voices in cinema.

Réka Lemhényi is a Hungarian film editor with over 20 years of experience in cinema and television. She has worked with acclaimed directors including Oscar-winner István Szabó, Jerzy Skolimowski, György Pálfi, and Tudor Giurgiu (Why Me?, Libertate).

Christoph Thoke is a renowned German producer whose films have been selected at over 530 festivals and have won more than 120 awards. He has worked with major directors like Bruno Dumont and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. His films Lorna’s Silence (dir. Jean-Luc & Pierre Dardenne) and Tropical Malady (dir. Apichatpong Weerasethakul) received awards at Cannes.

FIPRESCI Jury

Mihai Fulger, a member of the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN), the European Film Academy, and FIPRESCI, is part of this year's FIPRESCI jury. He is an editor at Film magazine and collaborates with numerous Romanian and international publications.

Pierre Charpilloz is a French journalist and film critic who contributes to Ciné+ and Arte, as well as to magazines So Film and Acumen. He also teaches film at Paris 8 University and the University of Strasbourg and has authored several books on cinema.

Ladislav Volko is a Slovak film publicist, sociologist, and former diplomat with a long-standing career in media and cultural studies. A professor and poet, he has published key works on cinema, media culture, and notable screen personalities. He lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia.
