TIFF.24 la ISSA Resort: o seară de film și echitație

Thursday, June 19, audiences are invited to ISSA Resort in Turda for an evening that blends cinema with a passion for horses, exceptional wines, and fine gastronomy. ISSA Resort will host, in a special preview, a TIFF-exclusive event – an exclusive experience in a space soon to be opened to the public. Just steps away from Salina Turda, ISSA is a retreat for lovers of nature, fine wines, and purebred horses.

The TIFF evening at ISSA Resort will begin with an equestrian show performed by carefully trained purebred horses from the estate’s equestrian center – a rare spectacle of grace and mastery.

Argentina’s submission for the 2024 Academy Awards, the film of the evening will be Kill the Jockey (dir. Luis Ortega), a dramatic comedy filled with eccentric characters, gangsters, and dance scenes. The film unfolds unpredictably in the world of equestrian sports and had its premiere in the official competition at the Venice Film Festival. It follows the story of Remo Manfredini, a legendary jockey whose self-destructive behavior threatens to ruin his career and his relationship with his girlfriend, Abril.

The lead role is played by Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, known to TIFF audiences from Persian Lessons (dir. Vadim Perelman), screened at the festival in 2021, and the queer drama 120 BPM (dir. Robin Campillo, 2017), which earned him a César Award.
