Once Upon a Time a Clockwork Orange

Director:
Antoine de Gaudemar

Stanley Kubrick shoots A Clockwork Orange in 1971. Supposedly taking place in the near future, it is firmly rooted in the late '60s, marked by the anti-authoritarian contestation of institutions and the rise of urban insecurity. Adapted from a novel by Anthony Burgess, this film on social violence raises upon release a strong controversy. Removed from theaters in England until 2000, after Kubrick's death, A Clockwork Orange is the striking work of a visionary.
