  • Trading Germans - dir.  Răzvan Georgescu, 2014 - 4th of June, 3 PM, The Army House

The story of one of the largest trade of human beings in post-war Europe: the organized, systematic sale of the whole German population of Romania to the state of West Germany. This film centres on the individual stories of the people directly affected by this trade.

  • Aliyah DaDa - dir. Oana Giurgiu, 2014 -  4th of June, 5 PM, The Army House

A well documented history of Jews in Romania. 133 years ago, a small community in Moineşti was leaving for the Holy Land, to establish one of the first kibbutzim in Palestine. Since then, the path of Jews towards Israel has been intertwined with the history of modern Romania through a love-hate relationship, the influences of which will not be quantified too soon. The historical tale is visually trimmed in the Dada style as a tribute to the pioneers of this movement, Tristan Tzara and Marcel Janco, two Jews of Romanian descent.

  • NonStop Bucharest - dir. Dan Chișu, 2014 - 4th of June, 5:15 PM, Florin Piersic Cinema

A regular night at a 24/7 neighborhood store. Achim, the owner, represents the connection between four stories of ordinary people caught in extraordinary situations. No matter how different they are, the taxi driver and the hooker, the elderly couple, the lovers and the local gangsters have one thing in common: Achim’s nonstop store.

  • Microphone Test - dir. Mircea Daneliuc, 1980 - 4th of June, 7:30 PM, Florin Piersic Cinema (Mircea Daneliuc Retrospective).

Luiza and Nelu, a reporter and a cameraman, are in a relationship. One day, they shoot a report at the North Train Station, interviewing several felons. Here, Nelu meets Ani, one of the felons and tries to spare her during the shoot, wishing also to date her after. Jobless, without parents and papers, Ani is engaged in a permanent money hunt to sustain her alcoholic brother.

  • The Treasure - dir. Corneliu Porumboiu, 2015 - 4th of June, 9:45 PM, Open Air Unirii Square.

Costi leads a peaceful life. At night he likes to read his 6-year-old son stories. Their favourite is Robin Hood. Costi sees himself as the hero - righter of wrongs and defender of the oppressed. One evening, his neighbour pays him an unexpected visit and shares a secret: there's treasure buried in his grandparents' garden. If Costi will hire a metal detector to help locate it, he'll give him half of whatever they get. Skeptical at first, in the end Costi can't resist. He's on board. The two accomplices have one weekend to locate the loot.
