Eszter Tompa, with the film Dimineața lui Oedip wins the Local Competition Award, a section dedicated to amateur or professional filmmakers from Cluj. The competition, in its 14th edition this year, had over 30 submitted films.
By profession an actress, Eszter Tompa brought her experience to the short film entered in the competition. Dimineața lui Oedip is an improvisation exercise with actors, in which two friends find themselves in an entirely new situation. Eszter convinced the jury to award her the 1500 Euro prize offered by Banca Transilvania, as well as production services worth 15,000 euros for her next film project, provided by Numa Film.
The jury for this edition consisted of Irina Malcea (producer), Mihai Mincan (director), and Istvan Teglas (actor), who awarded a Special Mention to Dragoș Bota, a third-year student in the Film Directing department of the Faculty of Theatre and Film. Dragoș Bota's film, „Să nu mergi prin mărăcini” entered the competition and is his fourth short film. He was rewarded with post-production services worth 7,000 euros, offered by Numa Film.
