Believing that the understanding of film is essential to literacy in the 21st century, Transilvania IFF’s organizers have created a unique cultural institution which aims to promote education through cinema and one’s necessity to express through art, cultivating and developing the passion for film, photography and visual arts in general. CASA TIFF will also offer residences for filmmakers and artists developing their projects. They will live, work and possibly teach in CASA TIFF.
Located on 6, Universităţii Street, CASA TIFF is a house belonging to Cluj historical center, where more than 1000 sqm were completely restored and transformed in a modern cultural arts institution with spaces perfectly fit for organizing an array of workshops and applied trainings, a café, a garden and a club in the building’s basement.
The year-round activities of CASA TIFF culminate in the annual Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), one of the most important European film events, accredited by FIAPF.
CASA TIFF is, from this year on, the rendezvous place of TIFF guests – international and local film professionals, the TIFF team and the public. The doors of CASA TIFF will permanently be open to the public who will be able to keep trace of the festival from this new key-location.
Being either at a coffee break between two films or attending a series of meetings with TIFF’s prestigious guests, press conferences or concerts, our visitors will get the feeling that CASA TIFF becomes, along with Transilvania International Film Festival 2012, a place where every moviegoer feels like home.
