10 for Film and Transilvania Talent Lab are two cultural programs that are taking place this year during the 11th edition of Transilvania IFF. The main idea was to stimulate and to promote new talents for Romanian film industry.
10 for Film is the new Cultural project developed at Transilvania IFF this year. The ten actors selected for Transilvania IFF project will be in the spotlight during the Romanian Days, between June 6th and June 9th . Cristian Balint, Colin Buzoianu, Lari Giorgescu, Cristian Grosu, Lucreţia Mandric, Maria Obretin, Pethő Anikó, Elena Popa, Olga Török, Raluca Vermeşan and the two Rising Stars Vlad Bălan şi Mădălina Ciotea will meet directors and producers, casting agents and other professionals from film industry.
The selected actors in 10 for Film will find out about the insides of the film industry from professionals attending the festival. Director Cristi Puiu, Ugo Broussot, actors Ion Caramitru, Dan Nuțu, Andi Vasluianu and Dorian Boguță, casting agents Emil Slotea, Cătălin Dordea and Molnár Levente, and producer Ada Solomon will discuss with them about the unwritten laws in cinema.
The first edition of Transilvania Talent Lab (TTL), the laboratory for people from cinema and film industry, ended on June 7. For 5 days, eighteen aspiring filmmakers met in the framework of TTL.
TTL alumni attended the 6 masterclasses held by Transilvania IFF’s special guests : Melissa Leo, Timo Vuorensola, Michel Ciment, Pen-Ek Ratanaruang, Jan Harlan and Christine Vachon. Beside the theoretical part, the eighteen young professionals worked on their projects during a number of case studies together with film critic and producer Andrei Crețulescu and producer Ada Solomon.
