The end of the week at TIFF 2010 brings a series of event-screenings, aiming to satisfy even the most demanding tastes of the cinema lovers.

An impressive number of 6500 tickets have been sold until now for the festival screenings.

On Sunday, at 17:00 h, the TIFF Lounge, hosted by the Museum of Art in Cluj, invites the cinema lovers to the series of daily meetings with film personalities all over the world. The people of Cluj will have once more the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with Mihnea Măruţă's special guests. And the guest opening the TIFF Lounge discussion series will be no other than Mihai Chirilov, the Artistic Director of TIFF.

Mihai Chirilov will talk about his selection criteria for the 240 films in the festival and will give several details about the three new sections he has introduced at the ninth edition of the festival: Extreme Therapies, Profession: Actress and Less Is More.

Also, at 17: 00 h, the people of Cluj are gathering at the Republica Cinema to attend the special screening of an original and very interesting documentary: La Danse / La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet, by Frederick Wiseman. Nominated for the Best Documentary at the César Awards, the film presents to the Romanian public one of the greatest ballet company in the whole world, The Paris Opera Ballet. This screening is presented by JTI.

From 21:30 h, the public is welcome in the open-air location Echinox Cinema, to see a film that has influenced generations of filmmakers, artists and ballet dancers. The Red Shoes, directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. An epic film from the Tehnicolor generation, awarded with two Oscars in 1949 for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration and Best Music, depicting both the backstage life of a ballet dancer and the enthusiasm of on stage performances. A fascinating story of a young ballet dancer, torn between the composer who loves her and the manager decided to turn her in a famous ballerina. This screening is presented by JTI and The British Council.

At 21:30 h, Castelul Bánffy from Bonţida (the Bánffy Castle) will host a very special event screening: the festival public will enjoy the music score composed by the guitarist Gary Lucas for the film Dracula (directed by George Melford, in 1931), the first film with Spanish language inserts made after the well-known Transylvanian legend.

Gary Lucas, born in New York, USA, was described by the Rolling Stone magazine as "one of the best and most original guitarists in America" (David Fricke); he is an international recording artist with over 20 solo albums, he was nominated for the Grammy Awards and has worked with such artists as Jeff Buckley, Joan Osborne, Nick Cave, Lou Reed, Chris Cornell, Future Sound of London, Iggy Pop; he is the composer of the famous hit "Grace", the title track from Jeff Buckley's album, and he has also composed the soundtrack for several films, among which George Melford's Dracula (1931), the first screen adaptation with Spanish language title cards of the Transylvanian well-known legend.

Dracula will be screened at TIFF, accompanied live by Gary Lucas, for the first time in Europe.
