An extra day of TIFF: the festival will take place until June 24
The Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) announces the extension of the 2024 edition by one day compared to the initially communicated dates. TIFF will now take place from June 14 to June 24, including the second day of Pentecost (June 24), declared a legal holiday. This additional day of TIFF will be dedicated to a retrospective of the most popular films from the festival, award-winning films, and surprise events.
The country's largest film festival is preparing hundreds of screenings, cine-concerts, special events, and meetings with stars. Over 150,000 film enthusiasts are expected in Cluj-Napoca this year for the festival, both in cinema halls and outdoor and alternative spaces. The number of participants has consistently increased over the years, with TIFF attracting an ever-growing number of Romanian and foreign tourists to Transylvania. According to a study conducted by students from the Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, over 70% of non-resident participants visit Cluj for TIFF.
In preparation for the final program, TIFF has started selling TIFF Cards for this new edition. Thus, cinephiles can choose subscriptions that allow access to 10 screenings, 25 screenings and special events, or the Gold Card that offers complete access to the festival.
