The HBO Day, devoted on June 5 to this traditional partner of TIFF, brings five new productions.

Starting at 10:00, the Cinema Arta moviegoers are in for a marathon – The Burning Bush, by the renowned Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland. The three-episode miniseries is based on the ultimate sacrifice of a student who set himself on fire in protest against the fact that, in 1969, the Soviets invaded Czechoslovakia. Free entrance. Other must see screenings include Seduced and Abandoned, a documentary shot by James Toback in Cannes and focused on people’s fascination for fame, money, art and death, and Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight, by Stephen Frears, about the famous boxer’s fight against the U.S. government. The Czech Republic brings forth two HBO productions: Păsări de noapte, a chronicle of the urban night life, and Povestea domnului Dragoste, about a young schizophrenic leading an as much as possible active life.
