Hungarian Day at TIFF

On June 5, special screenings, concerts and exhibitions will mark the Hungarian Day at Transilvania IFF.

At Florin Piersic Cinema, from 5.00 PM, the director Peter Bergendy will attend the screening of The Exam / A vizsga. Other films will also be screened in the presence of the filmmakers: Aglaja (dir. Krisztina Deák), The Door (dir. István Szabó), Homeland, Sex and Further Inconveniences (dir. Reka Kincses) and Jeno Janovics, a Hungarian Pathe (dir. Balint Zagoni) .

The exhibition "The Danube Exodus: The rippling Currents of the River" will open in the presence of Péter Forgács at Casa Tranzit, from 4.00 PM. Based on Forgacs’ 1998 documentary The Danube Exodus and its research materials, produced by Lumen Film, the multimedia installation is made with The Labyrinth Project, a research initiative at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, Los Angeles, CA.

Hungarian Day will end at TIFF Art (Museum of Art) with a Neti Sanyi Band concert, the band of famous Hungarian singer Sándor Fodor - at 21.30, followed by Riksalaz / Rickshaw Rush (r Gergő Somogyvari), a documentary about the Hungarians working on rickshaw taxis on the streets of Amsterdam, from 22.30. Hungarian Day is presented in partnership with Filmunio.
