TIFF 2011 Retrospective in Bucharest

After ten packed and intense days during which Cluj-Napoca hosted event-screenings, theatre performances and concerts, exhibitions and launches, it’s time for the audience in Bucharest and Sibiu to enjoy the TIFF 2011 films and events.

In Bucharest, between June 15 – 24, the organizers have prepared the TIFF 2011 retrospective for the film lovers who weren’t able to go to Cluj. Cinema Studio, Cinema Scala, The New Cinema of the Romanian Director and Cinema Elvira Popescu are the venues screenings a selection of the films presented at the tenth edition of Transilvania International Film Festival.

The top titles that can be watched include Sin retorno / No Return, by Argentinian director Miguel Cohan, winner of the Transilvania Trophy and of the Best Screenplay Award at the festival’s tenth edition, Balade triste de trompeta / A Sad Trumpet Ballad, by Spanish filmmaker Álex de la Iglesia, winner of the Silver Lion for Best Directing and of the Osella for Best Screenplay at Venice Film Festival 2010, as well as winner of two Goya awards, (one of which for Best Special Effects), and Imperialists Are Still Alive! (dir. Zeina Durra), awarded at TIFF 2011 for Best Performance.

The Way Back (dir. Peter Weir), starring Dragoş Bucur, Alexandru Potocean and Colin Farell, Kill me Please by Olias Barco, winner of Marc Aurelio Award for Best Film at Rome Film Festival  2010 and King’s Road, by Valdís Óskarsdóttir, contender in the Official Competition of TIFF 2011 are some of the features that can also be viewed during the TIFF 2011 restrospective in Bucharest.
