Beginning this year, Transilvania IFF will be developing a new project – „TIFF Horror & Fantasy” Festival in Biertan, Transilvania. Between 15th and 19th of August, this festival will bring in front of the audiences a unique occasion to see horror and fantasy films in an environment that will enhance the experience of such an event.
Biertan is located near Sibiu and is one of the first German towns in Transilvania, beginning with the 13th century. Starting with 1993, Biertan is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Biertan cand be found in the near vicinity of Viscri or Malancrav villages, an area in which Prince Charles is promoting the restoration of old Germanic villages in Transilvania.
Transilvania Horror & Fantasy Film Festival will showcase 20-25 genre films presented in open-air screenings organized in the mediaeval fortress. Every evening, rock bands and DJ’s will perform in front of the audience. A special camping will be organized for young audience.
Guests of „TIFF Horror & Fantasy” Festival in Biertan will have the opportunity to be accommodated in refurnished old mediaeval houses and pensions.
