A documentary tracing the odyssey of Leonora Carrington's passionate life, the last surviving member of the surrealist movement. The film follows a woman's struggle to be free and to explore her own unconscious, a struggle that led to her admission to a Spanish psychiatric hospital in the 1940s.
In the early 1930s, painter Leonora Carrington, a rebel against social expectations, joins the surrealist movement and its iconic figures like André Breton and Salvador Dalí in Paris. A whirlwind love affair with artist Max Ernst confronts her with her inner demons.
Finally free from prison after a 20 year sentence, Anker wants to get back the money he has stolen. However, his brother and accomplice Manfred suffers from dissociative identity disorder: he now believes he is John Lennon, and John can’t remember the place in which Manfred buried the money.
