In an ultra-modern Paris of glass and steel, where familiar landmarks appear only as fleeting reflections, Monsieur Hulot wanders through a whirring office complex, an exhibition of new inventions and an upscale party, repeatedly crossing paths with a group of American tourists.
Maria Angeles, a 79-year-old Spanish woman, lives alone in Tangier, in northern Morocco, where she enjoys the city and her daily life. Everything changes when her daughter, Clara, arrives from Madrid to sell the apartment in which she has lived her entire life.
Marius is a surgeon and the manager of the municipal hospital in his small hometown, raising his teenage son Ioan on his own.
Eight short films, eight ways of looking at what happens when the image stops merely reflecting and becomes an instrument of creation: dictators watching their own collapse, an android in search of a memory, a photograph turned into motion, a childhood filtered into disappearance.
April 15th, 1939. Just two weeks after the war’s end, Franco invites his top generals for a night of triumph. But in the hotel’s kitchen, a group of defeated Republican chefs are secretly preparing the meal, while also cooking up their last chance to escape the country.
