Free public transportation for all guests and the TIFF 2022 team
More than 1000 guests from 10 countries are expected to attend TIFF, Romania's largest film festival, from 17th to 26th of June. Due to a partnership with the Cluj-Napoca City Hall, this year the guests, as well as the TIFF team and volunteers, will benefit from free unlimited public transportation for the entire duration of the event, based on the festival badge.
Directors, actors, film producers and distributors, musicians and journalists are among those who join the Cluj audience year after year to enjoy the TIFF experience, joined by staff members and around 500 volunteers who will be able to access public transportation to get quickly to all the key points of the city, using all the bus, trolleybus and tram lines managed by the local transport company.
"We want the experience of TIFF participants to also be an experience of life in Cluj. In our city, we value sustainable mobility and quality of life, so we offer everyone access to the film locations with free transportation," says Mayor Emil Boc.
The initiative of TIFF and the Cluj-Napoca City Hall is in line with the integrated sustainability strategy of the festival, adopted in the last 3 years. This includes measures to limit transport by environmentally unfriendly means. Over the years, the festival has provided its guests with free access to electric bikes or scooters, and this year the entire TIFF fleet is made up of hybrid or electric models.
