Transilvania Talent Lab (TTL) the only training program specialised in cinema management in Romania, comes back this year at TIFF aiming to support film professionals involved in cinema management in Romania and surrounding countries by giving them the chance to evaluate, rethink and optimise their post-reopening strategies. This year TTL participants are invited to join an Exhibitors - Distributors Round Table held on 28th of July and to participate at Innovation Days Lab on 29th and 30th of July.

Organised by Europa Cinemas - the first network of cinemas focusing on European films - in partnership with Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) - The Innovation Days Lab reached its 4th edition. This year the workshop will be delivered by Metka Daris (Slovenia) and Tom de Bont (Netherlands) and features also a small intervention form Groupama. Metka Daris is the director of Kinodvor - the iconic Lublijana cinema opened in 1932 - and reciever of the Best Programming Award from Eruopa Cinemas for 2019. Tom de Bont is a programmer at Heerenstraat Theater, Netherlands. During the two-day workshop entitled “Beyond reopening” exhibitors will get acquainted with new marketing strategies, will obtain programming tips and will learn new social media audience development tools that they can use after cinemas reopening.

Supported this year by Groupama and BIT Software - digitisation partner -, Transilvania Talent Lab (TTL) offers a rare opportunity to create bonds with internationally acclaimed experts highly appreciated for their outstanding results in responding challenges during the period of time following cinemas’ reopening.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn form case-studies, will make their own presentations and will exchange opinions with their peers. Oana Bică, Corporate Communications & CSR Specialist at Groupama and Nicoleta Ciocov – project manager– will showcase the successful partnership between the insurance company, a local NGO and the local authorities that led to the renovation of Cinema Studio Timișoara.

Among the past Transilvania Talent Lab guest-speakers were: Marynia Gierat (Manager of Kino Pod Baranami Krakowia, Poland), Javier Pachon (President Cineciutat and Cinearte, Spania), Iris Praefke (Kino Moviemento & Kino Central Berlin & Kino Toni manager, Berlin), Verena von Stackelberg (Wolf Cinema founder, Berlin), René Wolf (Head of acquisitions / programmer - EYE Film Institute, Amsterdam), Tamer El Said (Cimatheque founder, Cairo), Hrvoje Laurenta (Executive Director - Zagreb Film Festival and General Manager - Kino Europa, Zagreb), Duncan Carson (former ICO Marketing & Communications Manager, now Marketing Manager for Curzon Cinemas, UK).
