The infiniTIFF VR Cinema presents a groundbreaking and wide-ranging selection of VR content, including both new works and modern classics.

All programs are available at any time during opening hours, your ticket will give you access to the VR Cinema at the time slot of your choice, upon arrival at the cinema you can select which program you want to watch.

 

Program 1

Equator 360 - The Centre of the World & The Lying Stars

R: Nicolas Jolliet | Canada, Franța / 2018 / 15’, 12’

Equator 360 is a four-part Cinematic Virtual Reality journey that takes viewers around the globe to experience the magical, mysterious, and beautiful ribbon of ecological diversity we call the Equator. The first 2 episodes - The Centre of the World and The Lying Stars – show insights from the Yuruparí shamans community, whose sacred sites are spread out in a network placed exactly on the equatorial line, and into the world of the nomads from the Chalbi desert in Northern Kenya.

 

Girl Icon

R: Sadah Espii Proctor | India / 2019 / 8’

„I want girls to look at me and think they can achieve anything they want," says 17-year-old Rani, from Varanasi, India, a Girl Icon leader. Her family has been destined to wash clothing by the caste culture of their society. But growing up in a community that believes girls should stay at home, do chores, and get married, doesn't stop her. Rani is determined to finish school, go to college, and inspire others as a Girl Icon leader to do the same. As we follow Rani, she gives us an intimate glimpse of her hopes, frustrations, and dreams.

Equator 360 – The Above and the Below & The Great Mother

Equator 360 is a four-part Cinematic Virtual Reality journey that takes viewers around the globe to experience the magical, mysterious, and beautiful ribbon of ecological diversity we call the Equator.

The first 2 episodes - The Above and the Below and The Great Mother - explore the way of living of the Bajau Laut people of South Africa, who are considered to be the last ocean nomads of this world, and of the Kogi priests from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, who recognize themselves as the spiritual caretakers of our earth, the Great Mother.

 

The Real Thing

You are invited into a VR journey inside China’s fake cities. All around Shanghai, thousands of people have chosen to live or work in stunning copies of Paris, Venice and London. This VR documentary invites viewers to a day-trip into a parallel world where famous touristic landmarks have been turned into vast neighborhoods.

Invasion!

Aliens came to take over Earth and destroy anyone that tries to stop them. Despite the Aliens' superior technology, Earth’s citizens rise up and defeat the invaders. But these citizens aren't… humans. They are two of Earth’s cutest, cuddliest creatures – two adorable white bunnies (and you are one of them)! Winner of the 2017 Daytime Emmy®, featuring the voice of Ethan Hawke, created by the director of Madagascar and the top-rated VR experiences Crow: the Legend and Asteroids.

Borderline

Abraham, a young Israeli soldier, Jewish with Ethiopian origins, is guarding the borderline along with a fellow rookie. When Abraham is left alone for a few minutes, he faces an impossible dilemma. Based on true events, the movie tells a short VR story, allowing its audience to experience the hero's uncertainty in 

 

Asteroids

Dive into a new animated space adventure with aliens Mac and Cheez in a completely immersive story filled with humor, excitement, and compassion. Joined by their other robot sidekick, Peas, you wait for a chance to prove your worth on a dangerous mission in deep outer space. The chance finally arrives when their spaceship is endangered by teeth-gnashing space-bugs and careening asteroids. It’s up to you to save the day!

Winner of the 2018 Daytime Emmy® and created by the director of the  famous Madagascar and the Emmy award winning VR experiences Crow: The Legend and Invasion!.

Overcoming fears and an inaccessible city, they finally meet. Together they discover what their bodies feel.

Sara's been abroad for work, and the welcome home dinner her boyfriend Luis just surprised her with has ended with some passionate dessert between the sheets. When she admits that she's going to have to go back to Paris for more meetings, Luis sees a window of opportunity. He gets a big confession off his chest... with a very peculiar motive. With the help of VR technology the viewer is allowed experience the intimacy of this couple and gets to hear his and hers inner thoughts.

 

Program 6 (25 minute)

An Obituary

R: Jean Yoon | Coreea de Sud / 2017 / 13’

A young man travels alone deep into the countryside to pay his respects after hearing of a friend’s untimely death. Upon his arrival, he finds himself to be the sole mourner at the funeral. Alone in the country, save for the elderly mother of his deceased friend, he begins to wonder why they seem to be the only two people left in the village.

 

Conscious Existence

Experiența virtuală a Primul Război Mondial

R: Anca Bonta, Dragoș Codre, Tudor Suciu, Vladuț Dragoș | România / 2018 / 8’

This short film shows the image of the War of Nations focusing on five key-points: the moment and motivation to enter the War; the recreation of the atmosphere of a bombed city; the simultaneous presentation of two parallel worlds in the same space-time; stereoscopic archive photographs and the impact on the population. This creative storytelling implemented in a CG environment will captivate you from the first second of the immersive experience.

 

Nothing To Be Written

During the First World War, millions of multiple choice postcards were sent home by soldiers from the trenches. Nothing except a signature was allowed to be written on the card, communication could only take place through prescribed phrases. Part artwork, part documentary, this short-film tells the stories of these ‘Field Postcards’, and is inspired by the circumstances under which they were written and received.
